Doing a lot of work on GIS and metadata at the moment - the more I get into it the more interesting (and complicated) it becomes….while looking around to see what local authorities are doing with GIS and the web, I came across this panorama its a neat thing - but no date - so is that the Samuel Pepys I see before my eyes, or the new fangled wine bar which replaced it…I can’t tell from the picture…

…so it sort of shows the need for GIS metadata - particularly helpful when building use changes, which is fairly frequent in some areas….there is a full set of metadata about the maps at http://www.map.hackney.gov.uk/all_data.asp
