The European Social Forum is taking place this weekend across London. But would you know if you only watched television?

This is where the internet really presents itself as an alternative - and even oppositional - media. We have Sky TV in our house - and although there are 998 channels available, not one seems to have mentioned this event.

(Contrast the amount of television time devoted to the boring ‘Big Brother’ and so on with the ESF).

Meanwhile, typing “European Social Forum” into Google produces plenty of different views, reports, news stories, personal accounts, details of the event and much, much more.

Back to keywords: can ‘e-government’ and ‘e-democracy’ embrace the diverse views and potential of the ESF?
