I’m in the pub…
Well, well, well - I’m in Edinburgh carrying out an information audit for the Scottish Parliament. This is extremely interesting and makes me realise how much local government could learn from other sectors…
Whatever ho ha there might be about the amount of money the actual building cost, it has to be said that inside it is very impressive. There is a core commitment to make the Parliament accessible so there are lots of visitors - in fact over 100,000 since it opened in September 2004.
It is possibly one of the world’s most wired Parliaments as well - for example, voting is electronic. Not without its problems though - if a decision goes through ‘on the nod’ (because there is cross party consent) then the vote might not be recorded.
So how am I keeping the blog up to date? Well I’ve found a pub (a pub!) with free wi-fi access (well they do ask that you buy a pint or two - oh shame). It’s the Jolly Judge and I cannot recommend it too highly. I never realised blogging could be so much fun.
Over and out..it’s my round…
