firefox
I’ve been experimenting with Firefox plug-ins, extensions and themes .
I like the ‘Saferfox Xpanded’. It integrates the browser with most web pages and makes the browser back / forward / refresh / stop / home / buttons look as if they are part of the page.
This seems more intuitive to me. It means the browser buttons become more integral to the navigation of the page. If only some web designers (sic) would stop opening a new window when you follow a link. Back / forward is a much better way to navigate.
A possible development would be to give the user a choice of ‘home’ as in their home page and ‘home’ as in the home page of the website they’re on, and build this in to the browser itself.
If the browser is seen as an extension of the web page then are all sorts of other possibilities that present themselves.
Hi Danny,
Don’t know if you use Thunderbird, I’m reading this via an RSS feed using it. Also loads of extensions etc to play with. On FF I use adblock - try it with the Guardian site. They have the nerve to charge for this service. Adblock does it free.
