Have decided that ‘e-government’ is a confusing term and may even impact upon the take up of ’services’ by people.

I would like to propose the following:

E-democracy - this sits at the top level. Government must be at the mercy of democracy, and not the other way round. This is about voting, elections, meetings, online petitions and so on

E-Government - this should be about - well, not really sure - perhaps this is about what the elected officials get up to once elected.

E-Public Services - this is all the stuff about booking appointments online with the Doctor, ordering a skip licence, renewing library books and so on. E-Public Services would help to encourage every one to think of seamless public service delivery instead of some things come from the health service, some from the council and so on. I think E-Public Services is a better term than e-Government. It doesn’t have that connotation, of well, people like T. Blair for one.

E-Information Management. This is about ensuring it all works properly.
