I’ve just bought a digital camera (from www.dabs.com). Here’s an photo I took at Lille station on the way to Nice to a Microsoft conference…

Be warned - it’s a big file. I need to get some compression software to be able to edit it, also its late, and it’s cost me 35 euros to post this blog entry - 20 euros for internet access in hotel and 15 euros for an adaptor - (I knew I’d forgotten to pack something…)

What I like about it so far is that I’ve taken loads of photos and then downloaded them to my laptop - or simply deleted them if I don’t want them. I am already using the camera in a different way. Maybe its the novelty factor but I’ve been carrying it around with me much more. Another thing I really like is the integration with the laptop. Publishing photos can now be much more instantaneous.

What I don’t like about it is it’s got too many options on it; the manual is predictably impossible (for me) to understand in places; it seems to eat batteries.

Roll on low powered, or solar powered digital devices…
