Guardian has a report on how Micro$oft are working with a repressive military dictatorship with a grotty human rights record to suppress freedom of speech.

Among the words that Microsoft are helping the Chinese government to suppress are ‘democracy’ and ‘freedom’.

Well, they won’t be able to sell the Chinese any ‘e-democracy’ projects they’re working on here then will they?

The whole story is worth a read to get a good understanding of the absurdities of Capitalism - both in the West and the East.

Surely this is a challenge to the Open Source community to create blogs and information systems which refuse to accept the words ‘Windows’ ‘Microsoft’ ‘MSN’ ‘Internet Explorer’ and so on?
