Currently doing some work on something grandly called ‘information governance’ (a new buzz term). So; am trying to construct models which show relationships and dependencies, and the key components. Is it worth doing this as a Wiki?

As part of this, I thought I might start to construct a list of keywords which apply to the information domain. Even this raises questions - is the top level term ‘information governance’ or ‘information domain’ (or ‘information kingdom’ which I don’t like because it sounds feudal and patriarchal). (try typing ‘domain name’ into google to see why google can generate problems of its own).

Here are some of the terms that I wrote down today while reading various articles on the train today:

accessibility
accuracy
analysing
articulation
characteristics
collecting
creation
data
databases
development
discrepancy
display
domain
employees
evolution
experience
explicit
forms
images
imagination
implicit
ideas
information
internalisation
interviewing
intuition
knowledge
learning
logic
marketing
meanings
phrase
precision
process
product
questions
relationships
responsibilities
roles
tacit
taxonomy
technology
thinking
transfer
vocabulary

Well that’s a start.

This is not an original idea - see for example http://www.cmsreview.com/IA/taxonomy.html which is a project to create a ‘taxonomy of taxonomies’
