Mozilla has a feature in preferences which can be switched on to ‘ask me before storing a cookie’. Out of curiosity I turned this on a couple of days ago. I am flabbergasted (good pre-web word that - I wonder what the etymology is?*) at the number of the things that come up. Some websites have several from a whole list of places.

On the same day that the gruaniad has a huge article about how more 3 years can describe the McDonalds logo than their own name I’m beginning to get worried /paranoid about the amount of data which corporations seem to want to collect from us.
