Saturday afternoon, sorting out my accounts, tidying up the garage (the two are related as a lot of stuff I need seems to be buried under the Christmas decorations, beach toys, my archive of books, newspapers, journals, etc).

The accounts bit is a big drag but sorting out all the paper stuff is always good fun. There is something totally absorbing about looking through boxes of old cards, letters, diaries, tickets to the opera. Can’t see how the internet and digital resources will ever be a substitute for the texture of yellowing paper and hand written notes from friends. There’s also my collection of punk singles, badges, posters (’Down With the Poll Tax’ - now they really were the days).

Where the web does excel though is proving live radio feeds about the football .
