walking on the moon
Given the near full moon and the chance of meteorite showers, Jim and I went walking on the moors last night…you need the full moon to see where you’re going, believe me, it is very dark up there. Just as well we took torches because there was a lot of water in the ruts on paths, although a lot of it was beginning to freeze, and an occassional blast of torch light helped determine the more water logged places.
There was enough silvery light to cast shadows and give some guidance to the likely course of the path we were trying to follow. The hills in the distance were just black silhouettes. Occassionally towards the valley we’d see the light of a distant farmhouse. Surprising how many remote houses and farms take the trouble to cover their walls and windows with Christmas lights. I suppose it’s for all us midnight ramblers to enjoy.
Didn’t see any meteorites but Venus and Mars were bright.
