well not quite, a small chevrolet in fact. The car is in the garage so I’ve got a hire car. An American chevrolet (better than the last hire car - in that one the petrol gauge rose on the dial as the amount of fuel decreased; I digress).

So I’m driving home from the station listening to the radio as one does, when every 10 minutes the programme is interrupted by the ‘traffic news’. Someone, somewhere has set this and I have no idea how to ‘unset it’ other than switch stations…Shostakovitch …’here is the traffic news’ switch …Dolly Parton …’here is the traffic news’…switch…Big Youth (on day time radio? I wish).

Who dreams this stuff up? I’m beginning to long for an analogue and mechanical world…
