I’ve added a new top level category called ‘reality’. This is going to be my category which is an antidote to the practice of putting an e in front of everything or thinking the world is changing for the better because the word ‘transformational’ is used repeatedly.

Reality.

I wrote to our local council about traffic speeds in residential streets. The whole town would be much safer for pedestrians if there were more 20 mph zones within it. I find it interesting that despite over 70% of people saying they would be in favour of this, there is little attention paid in the media.

Back comes the response that there are over 400 requests across the county from local people about traffic speed issues, but only six traffic calming schemes a year are actually introduced.
