Doing a piece of work at the moment which involves trying to find the contact details for a number of local authorities from their websites and then emailing them quite a complex enquiry about a project I’m working on relating to CRM, integration, transformation etc etc.

You can almost tell by the look and feel of some websites that it is not going to be an easy task. And the first impressions are quite often correct.

There are still council websites which don’t seem to have generic email contacts.

The quality of online forms varies hugely, and so far, only one council has sent me a copy of what I added into the online form.

A number have, however, provided a reference number… which only raises new issues about unique identifiers and unique references…
