Occassionally I get phoned up by someone from ‘Governent IT computing events’ or some such thing. They will inevitably launch into a long one sided discources about this television programme (with John Humphries - exactly what is it with e-government and this man?). They stress ‘and John Humphries will be it in’…eventually as they pause for breath I will manage to ask how much this will cost…’well the starting price is £8,500 for a five minute slot…and this will be shown on Sky television….

hang on; isn’t it supposed to work that people who appear on TV shows should get PAID for being on, not have to pay themselves…sounds like expensive vanity publishing.
