I find Nick Cohen’s articles in the Observer usually so full of bile that I avoid them. But I was struck by his column this week as I settled down to bacon rolls and coffee at breakfast time.

Another fine mess, another public sector IT project going massively over budget, the same old story about consultants earning £3,000 a day and delivering not much good at all.

All stuff already well covered in Computing and elsewhere in the computer press.

But how does the mysterious Mr Cohen conclude that this is the fault of the ‘left’? It’s truly bizarre. It’s much more to do with the flabby, ghastly and money grabbing neo-con policies that Mr Cohen himself supports.
