Just managed to send a test email to about 700 people. How, I don’t know as I thought I’d taken data out of the system before hand.

I’ve been worrying about setting this mailing list up all week. It was a bit distressing to see the replies whizzing through my email box (they were coming in at about 20 a minute). And then I started reading them, initially thinking they would be annoyed and negative. But in fact, out of the 100 or so received so far 99% have been neutral, supportive or very funny. One has been negative but not hostile.

So communities of practice don’t need to be build on perfection. I think most people would be suspicious of them if they were.
