The ongoing saga of speeding fine continues. Ah, reform of public services - when is that going to apply to PC Plod I wonder? I have had to send both my paper and plastic parts of my driving licence to the police - but not before I tried to phone a number on the top of one of the many letters I’ve received. This took me through to an answer phone (not ‘ansaphone’). This delivered a recorded message which told me to phone someone else - but didn’t supply the number. Oh yes, customer services indeed.

Now my driving licence has been returned, but both the licence and envelope it was in looked like they’ve been run over by a large vehicle. A substantial piece of the licence is missing and may have been chewed off by an angry police dog. Should I complain? But who to?
