This is my first try at using the writing feature of a tablet PC to update this biog-and it works quite well.

Interestingly, the same day that I begin to properly work out how to use this tablet is the day I go to a meeting where someone turns up with a laptop the size of a telephone directory (and as thick), which not only has a floppy drive, it also has a floppy disc inside the drive.

What does this small observation and experience tell us? That our personal and societal accumulative technical knowledge is increasing. It is relatively easy to learn how to use this tablet because I have previous experience of using computers. Also, different technologies exist side by side with each other. There is no reason why the laptop with the floppy disc is any less effective than the tablet.
