Hotel life
I’m in a hotel for two days at a rather good conference. There was a great speaker earlier from Age Concern who had some really interesting stuff to say about elderly people and service delivery. If the slides get posted to the web, I’ll add a link.
Two brief things - i) I can really understand how Jean Paul Sartre ended up living in a hotel for years. It’s such good fun - as long as it’s nice, which this one is. Unlike some of the gruesome places I’ve stayed in.
ii) It is possible to have technical progression and regression in the same room. While this room is equiped with internet access (although it’s £15.00 for 24 hours continuous access), the TV, while being state of the art-ish only has six channels (BBC 1, BBC 2, ITV 1, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky news) and no teletext or radio. Something I thought every TV could manage.
