I’m re-reading Raymond Williams excellent book ‘Keywords’ at the moment. He makes a number of important points about words, their meaning and meanings; the context of language and how the meaning(s) of words change over time.

It’s interesting to note that he doesn’t discuss the term ‘information’, which in itself suggests that the importance of this word, and its potential meaning(s) has changed since the book was first published.
