oh, no, there’s snow….
True to form, a few flake of snow and Britian’s transport infrastructure is plunged into chaos. Yeah, we, as ‘passenger’s and ‘customers’ are expecting it. But why is part of the digital infrastructure disrupted? Surely the weather can’t upset the brave new world of bits and bytes? Can it?
Well if you’re national rail it seems it can. I’ve been trying to find out since 8.30am whether the trains to Stockton (a key place in railway history) are running ok. But try as I might, I cannot get the national rail website to load. I can only presume - and it is mere speculation - that thousands of other people are trying to find out train disruption and the site can’t cope with all the extra traffic.

In the era of global warming, make sure the infrastructure is weather proof…
