I’m trying to work out what sort of relationship there is between spending on ICT infrastructure – networks, desk top PCs, software – and the amount of money then spent on an intranet.

In the example ( a real one) I’m working with, there’s about £4 million that can be identified with hardware and software – and about £40k – that’s right – £40k that can be identified with intranet development *and* maintenance.

Ok – so the PCs, software and infrastructure aren’t just used to access the intranet – but is the line of enquiry valid?
