The language used to describe older people is weird n’est-ce pas? Olders, elders, (I don’t think pensioners is allowed anymore), silver surfers, the Third Age and so on.

Ron Asheton might appear that he likes the quite life, but he played some of the most blistering guitar London has ever heard.

What would you assume if you bumped into him in the Town Hall reception? That he wants to get a free bus pass? Or that he’s one of the world’s most brilliant guitarists? That he can make enough noise to shake a building at 1000 yards?

On the way out, one of the roadies gave me one of the song lists the band had been using for the gig. What a night out.
