I’ve just voted online for the first time ever. It was for Marshall’s Fish and Chip shop in Tynemouth as the best in the UK.

Which may seem trivial, but given the ease with which this is possible, doesn’t it present the idea that democracy needs to be more than a cross on a piece of paper once every four or five years? Couldn’t we have democracy extend to voting on a range of issues on a continual basis?
