Ongoing eye problem. Walk through endless corridors to get to ‘red clinic’. On the way pass large TV monitor with static message about the ‘transformation’ of the hospital. There’s rubbish every where including discarded tissues and goodness knows what else. Shame I didn’t have a camera.

What exactly is ‘transformation’ in a hospital? Does anyone know? Or care?

But if there was a hand written poster saying ‘The aim is to get this hospital spotlessly clean’ then *everyone* would understand this; and instead of employing accountants from KPMG, they could employ people as cleaners; on a decent wage. And infections and death from bugs would decrease. And that would be a real achievement. That probably doesn’t need to be measured using ‘performance indicators’.

As Marcuse said, there are always different possibilities.
