ch-ch-changes
and oddly enough, after being in hospital yesterday I switch on Newsnight and catch Sir Gerry Robinson being interviewed talking to the Chief Executive of the NHS (David Nicholson? Trying to find out any information about the health service is hard work*). And what does Sir Gerry say, over and over again? ‘There is too much change and nobody knows what is going on, most of what it does is unsettled people’.
* This is from a website I’ve been reviewing (something to do with a ‘gateway surgical centre’ - whatever that is:
‘This new, state-of-the-art centre, is a completely stand alone unit that means patients can look forward to scheduled elective surgery…’
I’m not trying to be awkward, but as a non-NHS employee I have to ask:
- what does ’stand alone mean’?
- what is ’scheduled elective surgery’?
- who would ‘look forward to’ ’scheduled elective surgery’?
