meltdown…
Following a semi-power cut on Friday evening, we’ve had no internet connection. It’s now Monday morning (and I’m using wi-fi on the train instead). BT….don’tcha just loathe them. Trying to get any sense out of this organisation is harder than trying to understand quantum physics. Depending on who you talk to there is or is not a ‘problem’ with broadband in your area. There sole advice to date is ‘trying switching your router on and off’….and er, that’s it.
One thing it has revealed is how much computers in our house are used for networking purposes. Without the network, they become dull and torpid machines.
Except of course for me who is totally reliant on these things for work. And I’ve managed to leave my power lead at home so am furiously typing until the battery runs out of laptop…still at least I’ve managed to get my web and email fix for half an hour.

Not having access for a couple of days - and now faced with a laptop about to loose power gives a small glimpse of digital exclusion.
