I got stopped in the street earlier by an American girl in London; asking for directions to the British Museum. I must have been slightly dis-orientated by this happening because I sent her off in the wrong direction. If you ever read this, I am really sorry.

This is what is known as ‘human error’ but also an interesting example of social engineering (even in an unintended way). I can just about find my way to any point in a five mile radius of central London without getting lost. Left to my own devices.

But introduce something that doesn’t happen often (being stopped by a stranger in the street, made more out of the ordinary because the person is an American woman), and we’re forced to think in a slightly different way; it impacts upon the possible response.
