22.51 and I’m *checking* my email; but I personally think it’s really bad form to send any work related emails at this time of day. It gives the impression of being a workaholic bore; being martyr-ish (like people who insist on meetings at the crack of dawn - why do early risers think they have the high moral ground?), or not being able a very good ‘time manager’, of somehow wishing to give off a sense of superiority…’look, I never stop working’.

Personal emails I will quite happily send at any time of day or night. But not work ones…except! On those occassions when I do get up at six am I really can’t resist sending off as many emails as I can. It’s the virtuousness of getting up early…
