Is the French for website. Or it may be my poor translation skills.

French farmers have been protesting in Paris, teachers demonstrating and fishermen have been blocking the channel ports; well some of them, including Dover. It’s strangely difficult to get up to date real news about the port blockades, considering the impact this might have on people trying to get to the continent.

The French news is exciting for those of us who still think in marxist categories and ideas such as the self-emancipation of the working class, is an act of the working class. It’s estimated that more than 500,000 French workers took to the streets today over pension reforms.

It also makes me think that in terms of any form of general industrial and social protest, the world wide web would simpy be closed down by the powers that be. The internet might still work - where people set up their own local area networks, bulletin boards and so on. But I doubt the revolution will be on the web.
