Everytime I now see a picture of Alaister Darling (is he the most irritating politician ever?) I start to think about who does and who doesn’t qualify for a state hand out.

Apparently the Bishopsgate Institute doesn’t qualify for any state hand outs as I’ve just received an email from them as they try to raise the sum of £1.7 million.

Perhaps if they had run the place badly, lent all the money they did have to people who could never pay it back and paid everyone who runs it huge sums of money they would now be getting a huge cash injection. Tell that’s not how it works?
