New Labour really is a peculiar beast. They’ve effectively nationalised a great chunk of the banking system and continue to try to privatise the health service. 

This could reverberate around local government in strange ways. Somehow telling continuing to tell social care departments that they need to ‘act more like businesses’ seems rather foolish - because the model of the market has been exposed as fundamentally flawed.
